The International Conference on Electric and Intelligent Vehicles (ICEIV2021) concluded successfully

The International Conference on Electric and Intelligent Vehicles (shorted as ICEIV2021), hosted by the China Electrotechnical Society and jointly organized by the National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles of Beijing Institute of Technology and Energy Storage System and Equipment Technical Committee, was successfully held in Nanjing Air-Hub International Expo Center, Lishui District, Nanjing from June 25 to 28, 2021. The conference chair of ICEIV2021, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, deputy president of China Electrotechnical Society, and professor of Beijing Institute of Technology Prof. Fengchun Sun, and Secretary-General of China Electrotechnical Society Yi Han delivered speeches at the opening ceremony respectively. The chairman of ICEIV2021 and professor of Beijing Institute of Technology Prof. Rui Xiong introduced the preparations for the conference. Prof. Lijian Ding of Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Yanwei Ma of The Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Hong Li of the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Zhimin Dang of Tsinghua University attended the meeting. More than 100 experts and scholars from domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutions, etc. participated in this academic conference. The opening ceremony was co-chaired by Professor Hongwen He from Beijing Institute of Technology and Professor Kai Jiang from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

The conference held a total of 17 invited speeches, 17 sub-forums, 85 oral presentations, and 92 poster presentations, covering the cutting-edge academic achievements of key technologies of intelligent vehicles, such as carrier and vehicle technology, battery and energy storage technology, and power and drive system technology.

The inauguration ceremony of the Energy Storage System and Equipment Technical Committee was held at the same time. More than 40 experts and scholars, including the academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, deputy president of China Electrotechnical Society, and professor of Beijing Institute of Technology Prof. Fengchun Sun, Secretary-General of China Electrotechnical Society Yi Han, Prof. Lijian Ding of Harbin Institute of Technology, Prof. Yanwei Ma of The Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Hong Li of the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zhimin Dang of Tsinghua University, Prof. Bo Zhang of South China University of Technology, and Prof. Yi Yi of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, attended the meeting. The meeting elected 40 members of the first session of the committee, and 4 from the 40 members were elected to serve. Prof. Rui Xiong of Beijing Institute of Technology was elected as the chairman of the first committee, Prof. Kai Jiang of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Prof. Kai Wang of The Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences were elected as vice-chairman, and associate Prof. Chengming Zhang of Harbin Institute of Technology was elected as the Secretary-General.

The conference collected more than 300 papers from different countries and regions. After strict review by experts, the paper from Dr. Xiaopeng Tang of Hong Kong University of science and technology was selected as ICEIV2021 best paper. Prof. Rui Xiong, chairman of ICEIV2021, read out the award and Prof. Chun Wang, organizing chairman of ICEIV2021, presented the award.

Award ceremony of AESA-Energies Outstanding Researcher Award and AESA-Energies Outstanding Young Researcher was held at the same time. After strict review by experts, Dr. Bing-ang Mei of Beijing Institute of Technology was elected as the AESA-Energies Outstanding Young Researcher, and Prof. Zeyu Chen was elected as the AESA-Energies Outstanding Researcher. The winners of the Outstanding Researcher Award received a 500CHF monetary prize, sponsored by Energies.

The International Conference on Electric and Intelligent Vehicles is a grand meeting that closely integrates academic research, technology development, and engineering practice in the field of electric intelligent vehicle.
